Perhaps one sector which is still regarded as an epitome of sacrifice and discipline and evokes instant pride and gratitude on part of the lesser mortals is the Indian Defense services. When all other arms of the government seem to be falling, our forces stand out from the group with heads held high. In fact the stability, security and well being of our country is a strong, disciplined, and die-hard defense force. Equipped with the latest in hi-technology, training techniques and discipline and purpose in life, Armed Forces of India present opportunities for professional as well as personal growth to candidates who have it in them.

Indian Navy
The Navy operates a vast fleet of destroyers, frigates, corvettes, submarines and other support vessels. The Navy conducts its operations through its four branches which are given below:

Executive Branch
This is the largest branch. It is responsible for the naval vessel's administrative management and its combat elements. They constitute the fighting team and are trained in various weapon systems. The Captain of a naval vessel is always an Executive Branch Officer. The Chief of Naval Staff also belongs to the Executive Branch. In the beginning of their service, all Executive Branch Officers undergo common training, both at sea and ashore, which gives an insight into all warfare disciplines like anti-submarine warfare, diving and mine warfare, gunnery and missiles, tactical warfare, navigation, logistics and administration, naval aviation, communications and electronic warfare. Naval Aviation Executive Officers joining Naval Aviation, become either pilots or navigators. They are trained on various aircraft and helicopters become airborne tactical coordinators of maritime warfare.

Marine Engineering Branch
This branch is responsible for keeping engineering equipment and propulsion systems for warships and submarines serviceable.

Electrical Engineering Branch
This branch deals with the maintenance and upkeep of all electrical and electronic systems including weapon systems, missiles, radar, and radio-communication systems.

Education Branch
This branch helps officers and men of the Navy update their technical knowledge and raise their academic level to enable them to imbibe technical training.
