Job Scenario in Entertainment Sector

As the economy is growing, so is the level of awareness among people to get quality entertainment. Today with prices of airline tickets plummeting and cable TV reaching every household, even in far flung areas, a typical Indian consumer is exposed to cross cultural entertainment extravaganza. His choice of channel is not limited to the eber gold and ubiquitous Doordarshan but all sorts of infotainment channels, offering information and entertainment at the same time. As people say that there is no business like show business and that is being proved now as huge opportunities are being unraveled ever day for people having various skill set to be a part of the virtually exploding entertainment industry.

There is an increasing demand for quality entertainment in India and dearth of quality is only going to increase the premium for quality people. Not only are television channels multiplying, FM radio is also riding a boom and expanding with a bang in all parts of the country. Delhi already boasts of nine FM channels, Mumbai has more than six and mind you the number is only increasing. Even Srinagar has one too, and many more are mushrooming in different parts of the country. Companies like Reliance which is always ready for new business opportunities and the Dainik Jagran group are setting up 17 and 15 FM channels, respectively. Each TV and radio channel requires producers, directors, editors, sound engineers, reporters, performers, scriptwriters, RJs, VJs, lighting technicians and so on. So there is a huge demand for quality people in the sector and with experience gained, sky is the limit for the kind of opportunities which are offered to people.

The boom in the sector has also fuelled the demand for content provider who can give and produce the contents for the entertainment industry on 24/7 basis as TV channels are there round the clock. It ha given immense opportunities to people with creative juices flowing and ha changed the fortunes of a large number of small time TV actors who have reaped the benefits. The ever increasing and mushrooming of acting schools bears testimony to the growing demand for people of all ages to be a part of the entertainment industry.

Gaming and animation is another huge area being outsourced to India from the USA and other countries. So huge, that sensing the potential the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group has set up Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd which is a full-service Gaming Entertainment Company handling exclusive game content, both international and Indian. It won't be long before many other companies jump onto this multi-media bandwagon. And not only games on computers, but even on mobile phones with Bharati Airtel and other players getting into the act.

The industry is going to grow by leaps and bound but the pressure to survive in the industry is also killing so you need to have IT in you if you want to be a part of this hugely exciting and enormously paying industry. If you succeed, sky is the limit for your climb up in the ladder.
